I used to use my speaker phone when on a conference call however, I have switched to a telephone headset.  Using the telephone headset gives me m ore privacy than my speaker phone.  So many of my co workers would start rumors about the conference call as they thought they heard it all when I used the speaker phone.  However, they were always incorrect about the little bit they would hear every now and then.  Now using the telephone headset rather than the speaker phone during a conference call they only find out what I want them to find out.
